Dear Friends and Family,
Happy New Year! We are praying that 2021 will be a better year for everyone. We are SO excited that on January 18 a new phase of the ministry in Guatemala started, E-Learning Centro Educativo Luz Para El Futuro. Our virtual learning school has 12 students from grades 7-10. They are from our English program in the Guatemala City garbage dump!
We are using Microsoft Office Teams platform to teach all the students remotely. The students meet Monday to Friday at our education center. We have spent the last few months converting our education center into a school. We are grateful to the people who have donated computers for each student. We have installed a high-speed internet, a projector, speaker, and and water filters. For pandemic safety, a thermometer and hand sanitizer station will help make sure that all of the students remain safe. We also have the students in three different classrooms to maintain social distancing. We are blessed to have two of our former English program graduates to help the younger students learn this new technology. The curriculum meets the governmental requirements through a home school format. The curriculum is supplemented with extra English classes, Bible classes, and electives taught in English.

We are blessed to have a Guatemalan Director for this program, and a Guatemalan technology person to help with the implementation and operation of this new platform.
We are SO excited to offer this educational platform for these students. We can do everything in our power to help the students receive a quality education this year. Our regular English and Bible classes will begin again in February.
