We are thankful that a few of our students have been able to live with some of our American volunteer families in Guatemala. They have been given a 100% immersion experience to help them learn English better. They do devotions in English every day, have classes in English. They attend church services on Sundays (Online) in English. And they are given the opportunity to be a part of these families. Playing games, and watching TV in English, and helping with daily chores.
We are also thankful that Light for the Future will be providing a Virtual School education for 12 of our students from grades 7-10, starting in January 2021. All of the moms went to the ISEA Home School office to register their children for this program.

We are thankful that a laptop computer was donated for each child in the program. God has blessed our ministry with the necessary partners to fund each child’s education for the next school year. enough the sponsors for the children. We are confident that this educational program will surpass the education that most other children in Guatemala received this past school year. During the pandemic, most of the children were given packets of material, and told to go home and teach themselves. Most of the children do not have internet at their homes. They literally lost an entire year of school.
This program will provide an improved, and much superior education. These 12 students will meet every day at our learning center where they will have internet access. Teachers via zoom. And we will also have two of our former students available every day to help the students, in person, with their lessons. This has always been the goal of our program. To have graduates of our program give back to their community!
We will be raising funds for our new school program on Giving Tuesday on our website. https://www.lightforthefuture.org/giving-tuesday Please consider partnering with us, as we try to improve the quality of education for these marginalized students that live in the dump in Guatemala City.
Dios te Bendiga,
Richard and Melissa Jefferson
